The 2017 paper “The Bees of Maine. with a State Species Checklist” reviewed collections and reported historical sightings of bees across Maine, coming up with 278 individual species. MEBW extends the good work of the paper authors by linking their list with iNaturalist - precisely the Taxa Information page, and a query of Research Grade observations in the iNaturalist project “Maine Bees”, curated by the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.
