The Bee Informed Partnership (BIP) operated a US wide Sentinel Apiary program (SAP). The program involves monthly (May-October) testing for Varroa and Nosema. MEBW is proud to help bring and expand the program within Maine.

The Bee Informed Partnership (BIP) operated a US wide Sentinel Apiary program (SAP). The program involves monthly (May-October) testing for Varroa and Nosema. MEBW is proud to help bring and expand the program within Maine.
MEBW’s BIP/SAP program for 2020 had six Maine beekeepers collect samples from each of 4 labeled colonies in their apiary. The samples were then sent to BIP for analysis. MEBW paid participating Citizen Scientists a stipend AND their BIP registration fee. Results are below:
